 AARP Age-Friendly Communities Roundtable

On October 7th, Circulate Planning staff attended the AARP Age-Friendly Communities Roundtable, hosted by The San Diego Foundation. Circulate recently helped to complete the Livable La Mesa Age-Friendly Action Plan, through the Age-Friendly Communities Initiative with AARP and the World Health Organization. The final report is available here.

The Roundtable was a great experience that included a gathering of Age-friendly experts and communities in the San Diego region, and beyond. The discussion at the Roundtable focused on exploring more into the topic of Outdoor Spaces & Buildings, one of the eight domains of livability. This discussion included a fun activity of designing what an age-friendly park looks like, outfitted with themed Legos.

We look forward to working with our next Age-Friendly community, Carlsbad, in the upcoming months and continuing our partnership with AARP and The San Diego Foundation to make the San Diego a more age-friendly region.
