Circulate San Diego and its coalition partners submitted a letter urging SANDAG to adopt a Vision Zero policy. Metropolitan planning organizations like SANDAG are uniquely positioned to embrace a regional Vision Zero policy and end traffic deaths on our roadways. No single jurisdiction can eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries alone. SANDAG should adopt a vision zero policy that encourages jurisdictions to adopt Vision Zero commitments and plans by requiring such plans for discretionary grants and providing funding to help jurisdictions create vision zero plans.
