Today, Circulate submitted a letter with recommendations for supporting Community Planning Groups and housing production during the COVID-19 crisis. The letter is co-signed by LISC San Diego, the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, the Sustainable Growth Community Planners, and Circulate San Diego.

Letter: Curbside Permits to Help Businesses Creatively Use Parking and the Public Right of Way

Circulate supports the creation of a Curbside Permit to allow for the creative use of parking and the public right of way to operate outside and adhere to public safety guidelines.

We submitted a letter to County elected officials with recommendations for the development of a permit and the creation of design guidelines for easy implementation of Curbside Permits.

Letter: Curbside San Diego: A Pilot Program for Creative and Flexible Use of Public Right-of- Way, Helping Businesses During Downtown’s Economic Recovery

Circulate sign onto a letter from the Downtown San Diego Partnership in support of the creation of a curbside permit to allow for business and public use outdoors. Allowing restaurants, retail, live performances, and other uses will be an important part of San Diego's economic recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.

Letter: Essential Workers at MTS Deserve Essential Pay

Circulate signed onto a letter with IBEW Local 456 and ATU Local 1309 in support hazard pay for essential transit workers. The letter requests awarding a 10% Essential Worker Differential to employees represented by ATU and IBEW.

Sign-On Letter: Housing Production Legislation

Circulate San Diego signed onto a letter from a coalition of organizations urging the California legislature to bring forward major housing production legislation in the current legislative session. The letter includes several recommendations for housing issues to address in legislation this year.

Letters with COVID-19 Transportation Recommendations for Regional Leaders

Circulate and a coalition of regional organizations sent a letter with recommendations for transportation actions to support San Diego regional agencies' COVID-19 response. Read the coalition letter here [PDF].

Letter: Recommendations for Active Transportation Actions as COVID-19 Response

Circulate San Diego and a coalition of transportation and community-based organizations sent a letter to Mayor Kevin Faulconer with recommendations for active transportation actions as a response to the COVID-19 crisis. 

The coalition included the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, the San Diego Mountain Biking Association, BikeSD, Climate Action Campaign, Hammond Climate Solutions, SanDiego350, City Heights CDC, Rise North Park, Rise Up Town, YIMBY Democrats of San Diego County, and Sunrise Movement San Diego.

Letter: AB 2062 (Support)

Today, Circulate San Diego submitted a letter in support of Assembly Bill 2062. Circulate supports this bill which would provide $5 million for SANDAG to conduct a study of higher speed and safety alternatives for the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Rail Corridor in the County of San Diego.

Erosion of the Del Mar Bluffs is an imminent issue and we must allocate funds to identify a long-term solution for the corridor.
