Virtual Press Conference to Discuss Findings of New Circulate White Paper: Essential Workers Rely on Transit in San Diego

On Thursday, Circulate San Diego will host a virtual press conference to release Essential Transit: How essential workers in the San Diego region continue to rely on transit while responding to COVID-19. Circulate will share the white paper’s findings and talk about the essential role that transit plays getting essential workers to their jobs.

What:

Even in the time of COVID-19, many of San Diego’s essential workers rely on public transportation. Our trains and buses are helping our region survive today’s pandemic.

Essential Transit uses Census data to analyze how much of the San Diego region’s transit ridership comprises essential workers and finds that 35 percent of usual transit ridership are essential workers. These and other findings will be shared, followed by time for questions from the press. The white paper will be released on Thursday morning following the press conference.
