Virtual Press Conference to Release “Equity and Climate for Homes,” New Report and Maps on Success of San Diego’s Housing Bonus Program

On July 15th, nonprofit think tank Circulate San Diego will host a virtual press conference to release “Equity and Climate for Homes,” a geographic analysis of the Affordable Homes Bonus Program, the City of San Diego’s innovative policy to produce more affordable and market-rate homes. Note, this press conference has been rescheduled to this date (7/15) from an earlier date that had to be postponed.

Letter: Support to Place Homes for San Diegans on the November Ballot

Circulate San Diego submitted a letter in support of the City Council placing the Homes for San Diegans bond measure on the November ballot. This proposed $900 million affordable housing bond will enable the development of much-needed affordable housing units and will foster the goal of creating equitable housing policies in San Diego.

Letter: Recommendations for Updating Shared Mobility Device Regulations

Circulate submitted a letter with recommendations for how to update San Diego's Shared Mobility Device (SMD) Regulations. SMDs such as scooters or bicycles continue to provide transportation options for San Diegans to get around conveniently.  Our recommended updates to the regulations are meant to ensure their viability long-term, so that San Diegans can continue to benefit from expanded mobility options.

Letter: Geographic Fairness in AHSC Grant Scoring

Circulate submitted a letter to the Strategic Growth Council regarding the staff recommendation for the San Diego region to receive zero funding from the California Strategic Growth Council’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities grant for Round 5. This follows Circulate's report released earlier this year with recommendations for how San Diego can receive its fair share of Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities funding.

Letter: Support for Amendment to San Diego Municipal Code 132.0505 Coastal Height Limit in the Midway District

Today, Circulate San Diego submitted a letter in support of the proposed Midway ballot measure. This ballot measure, which would remove the 30-foot height limit in the Midway-Pacific Highway Community Plan area, will enable the development of much-needed affordable housing units and will foster the goal of making this community a transit-and pedestrian-oriented destination accessible to everyone.
