Chula Vista OTS Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Programming

Circulate received a grant from the City of Chula Vista to conduct California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) funded pedestrian and bicycle safety programming. The OTS programs target all age groups to raise awareness about traffic rules, rights, and responsibilities whether you are driving, walking, or bicycling. Specifically, programs are designed for high-risk populations, including youth and older community members, in an effort to encourage safe alternative transportation behaviors. The overarching program goal is to reduce the total number of pedestrians and bicyclists killed or injured in traffic related crashes.

Modeling the approach after Circulate's other OTS-funded work in the County of San Diego, City of San Diego, and San Diego State University, the team partnered with local schools, senior centers, recreation centers, city departments, and community-based organizations to develop and execute programs tailored to specific audiences.
