Circulate Discusses E-Bikes with KPBS

Aria Grossman, Policy Manager at Circulate Planning & Policy, joined KPBS’s Jade Hindmon to discuss electric bicycles (E-Bikes).

As the City of San Diego considers new restrictions on use of Class One and Class Two E-Bikes for children, it’s important that we all have a common understanding of what these devices can do.

Aria spoke with KPBS about the different types of E-Bikes and some of the related state and local legislative proposals. Aria and Jade spoke about SB 1167, introduced by Senator Catherine Blakespear, which Circulate is a proud supporter of! The bill would crack down on the deceptive marketing of electric vehicles that are not street legal E-Bikes.

Dating App: Missed Connections!

Did you get excited to download Missed Connections yesterday?

For April Fools’, we “launched” a dating app for people who care about transit, housing, and how cities grow. Think matches based on proximity to transit lines, a Parking Attitude Index, and a handy option to filter out NIMBYs.

We’re guessing a few of you clicked to download. Maybe one or two even started thinking about what your profile would look like. All jokes aside, Circulate is focused on expanding reliable transit, building more homes near jobs and transit, and creating neighborhoods where it’s easier to get around and connect to opportunity.

There’s a lot to do to make San Diego the region we want it to be.

If you’re with us, consider making a donation to support the work ahead.
