Big Victory for Safe Streets on 30th Street

Earlier this month, Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced that he was directing staff to design protected bikeways on 30th Street from Howard Avenue to Juniper Street. Months ago, local residents brought up the 30th Street Resurfacing project as an opportunity to install bike infrastructure. Councilmember Chris Ward led the community dialogue about the potential bike infrastructure and facilitated the positive outcome to install protected bikeways.

Thank you to Councilmember Ward and Mayor Faulconer for your leadership! It will take bold action like installing fully protected bike lanes in North Park for San Diego to meet its Vision Zero and Climate Action Plan goals.

New funding to support our work on Seniors Mobility

Circulate San Diego is pleased to announce that we have received a grant from Kaiser Permanente for our Safe Routes to Older Adults efforts in Chula Vista.

Our team will support Chula Vista’s efforts to become an age-friendly community by identifying common destinations for older adults and provide tools and recommendation on ways to improve access to these places via active transportation. We look forward to continue the work started with the City of Chula Vista, the Norman Park Senior Community Center, and other local stakeholders. Stay tuned for trainings, mobility assessments, and a toolkit for interventions to be developed over the upcoming year.
