Intro Spotlight: Samantha Katz

Join us in welcoming our new intern, Samantha Katz! As is our tradition, we interviewed her so our supporters and members can get to know her.
We’re Hiring – Policy Manager or Director of Policy

Circulate is hiring!
Join our team as our next Policy Manager or Director of Policy. This is a unique opportunity to enter at a mid-level Manager or senior-level Director. This position is perfect for a lateral jump into a nonprofit, for an up-and-comer looking to take the next step in their career, or for a seasoned professional to make a big immediate impact. The position presents an opportunity to build a strong reputation in the San Diego political sphere.
Come Out to our Del Cerro Pedestrian Audit

Circulate is excited to partner with Strong Towns SD and SDSU for this July’s Walk & Talk in Del Cerro—a pedestrian field trip focused on assessing the neighborhood’s walkability and bikeability.
We’ll kick things off at KnB Bistro before heading out to explore the area on foot. As we move through the neighborhood, participants will observe the built environment from a street-level perspective, share insights on barriers to active transportation, and suggest improvements they’d like to see. Together, we’ll explore how Del Cerro can become a more vibrant, accessible, and resilient community.
After the audit, return to KnB Bistro to enjoy some food and a post-audit debrief!
Please RSVP on our website to ensure we have vests and clipboards for everyone.
Recap: University Heights Bike Audit

This past weekend, Circulate and BikeSD hosted a bike audit in University Heights to submit Get-It-Done reports to the City. The group split into two: Circulate’s team focused on bike lane infrastructure—such as broken flex posts, faded bike markings, and suggestions for additional bike facilities along streets—while BikeSD’s team documented obstructions in bike lanes, including overgrown vegetation, debris, and vehicles illegally parked in the lane.
We appreciate everyone who joined the ride and helped document our findings. Stay tuned for our upcoming report!
summer Safety Tips

Fourth of July is tomorrow and many of you will be outside in the sun and the summer sun is especially dangerous! Here are a few summer safety tips:
- Take public transit to avoid holiday and beach traffic
- Be on the lookout for pedestrians
- Do not let fireworks distract you while driving
- Stay hydrated by drinking water
- Keep cool and avoid heat- and sun- related illnesses by seekingshade and applying sunscreen
- Dress for the heat by wearing light colored and loose fitting clothing
- Avoid sun- and heat-related illnesses like heat stroke and sun poisoning by drinking plenty of water, applying sunscreen, and seeking shade during long periods outdoors
Last but not least, remember, no matter the festivities: never drive distracted or impaired.
Circulate wishes you a happy Fourth of July and great (safe) summer!
