The Vision Zero Neighborhood Symposium is organized by a coalition of San Diego supporters for safer streets, and will bring together residents from San Diego's diverse neighborhoods with leaders in traffic safety, law enforcement, street design, and public health to discuss the pressing issue of saving lives.
Vision Zero is working towards zero traffic deaths in San Diego, acknowledging that no loss of life is acceptable. If you care about safe streets in your neighborhood, join us for an evening of discussion.

Chula Vista Elementary School District director shares how a culture of walking has taken off at the District.
It must have looked odd at first — the superintendent and members of his leadership team in business attire walking the neighborhoods surrounding the administrative center of the Chula Vista Elementary School District. Surely they were mistaken for leaflet distributors or salespeople. Soon, however, more employees were walking the neighborhood, noting that life and work are more enjoyable when you literally put your best foot forward. Read the full blog.
CicloSDias is Back!
Open Streets advocates and enthusiasts rejoice! We are super excited to announce that after a one-year absence, CicloSDias returns on October 30, 2016, 10 am - 3 pm. ClicloSDias is a free Open Street event that closes streets to cars for the day and opens them to people on foot, bike, skateboard, etc. to create a whole new healthy, sustainable and vibrant city street experience. The route will run through the City Heights, North Park and Normal Heights neighborhoods. To learn more about the event, please check out the project website.
Circulate is Celebrating Park(ing) Day & We Need Your Help!
Circulate will be hosting a pop-up parklet in National City next Friday, September 16, in celebration of Park(ing) Day! We are really excited to get out there and reclaim a piece of a public street for the enjoyment of passersby! We need materials to make our parklet something extra special. We have fake turf covered and giant Jenga and Connect Four to activate the space, but we need a few more things. If you have a park bench, potted plants, a table, a large umbrella, or any other item you think would make a parklet fun and awesome, that you could donate or lend, please contact Oscar Medina at [email protected] or 619-544-9255 x 304.
PARK(ing) Day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists, and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. The project began in 2005 when Rebar, a San Francisco art, and design studio, converted a single metered parking space into a temporary public park in downtown San Francisco.
