City of San Diego: Senior Stories

City of San Diego: Senior Stories

Circulate has received a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and the City of San Diego to conduct a series of three "Senior Street Stories." In preparation for this series, locations were specifically picked at intersections and/or corridors that have experienced a significant number of older adult pedestrian/bicyclist deaths or injuries in the past five years.

At these events, people, especially older adults, were invited to tell us about their experience walking and biking around the City of San Diego. With prior participant consent, people were photographed and some even provided interviews sharing their stories as to why they love walking and/or biking as well as sharing what makes them feel most vulnerable when near the streets. A compilation video will be developed at the end of the project sometime later in the summer.

See below for images of each of our three "Senior Street Stories." Note: Not all "Senior Street Stories" have been completed yet. Make sure to follow us on all social media channels @CirculateSD to keep up and potentially join us for some of our future events.
