Circulate San Diego submitted a letter in support of AB 122, which will legalize Idaho stops in California. Idaho stops allow bicyclists to yield at stop signs rather than making a full stop. This common-sense change has been shown to improve bicyclist safety while also allowing cyclists to maintain their momentum while crossing an intersection. Idaho, Oregon, and Delaware all allow Idaho Stops. Idaho stops encourage bicycle use, which helps California to reduce its air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions while encouraging a healthy and active population.
