Circulate San Diego submitted a letter in support of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) San Ysidro Transit Center Improvements (Project) application for the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) Fiscal Year 2026 Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) to fund the Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Clearance phase.

As a critical component of the Regional Plan transportation network, the future facility will significantly improve Blue Line Trolley operations by adding a third track and platform, improving safety and security, and enhancing multi-modal connectivity and regional and cross-border movement. SANDAG is currently working on planning, outreach, and conceptual design. The preliminary engineering and environmental clearance phase of work is ready to begin in FY 2027.
