Circulate San Diego submitted a letter in support of SANDAG's Reconnecting Southeastern San Diego and National City project. The Project aims to address the historical harm due to transportation investments that continue to negatively impact local communities. The major transportation barriers include Interstate 805 (I-805), Interstate 5 (I-5), State Route 94 (SR 94), and State Route 15 (SR 15). The residents of Southeast San Diego and National City have suffered the consequences of divisive infrastructure resulting in inequities and limited access to jobs, housing, education, healthcare, essential services, and recreation. Much of the Project area resides in a federally designated Promise Zone, one of 22 in the United States and one of four in California.
