Lincoln High Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Project

Lincoln High Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Project

Circulate Planning & Policy supported the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) on the Lincoln High School Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Project. In 2020, SDUSD was awarded a $9.7 million grant from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to launch the Lincoln High School Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Project. The goal of the project was to implement an innovative zero-emission transportation program, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the accessibility of clean mobility options within the Lincoln High School Cluster and surrounding community.

Circulate assisted in the education and outreach efforts of the project. This included conducting pedestrian and bicycle safety presentations, bike rodeos, developing a unique branding identity for the project, developing Safe Routes to School maps for the 14 participating schools, and assisting in the distribution of 30 e-bikes to staff and students through a partnership with Pedego San Diego. The first-of-its-kind Electric Bike Sharing Pilot Program was implemented at Lincoln High School. Circulate's Traffic Calming Course was developed and deployed at two (2) community events though funding from this grant.
