Lynwood Safe Routes to School Plan

Lynwood Safe Routes to School Plan

Circulate Planning & Policy supported KOA Corporation, a Lochner Company on the development of the Lynwood Safe Routes to School Plan. The goals of the project were to improve safety conditions around the 18 schools within the City of Lynwood, enhance accessibility conditions for people of all ages, increase physical activity among students, reduce vehicle emissions, and provide improvements that are equitable for all users. With funding from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the project team spent more than a year reviewing walking, biking, and rolling conditions around the 18 schools within the City of Lynwood.

Circulate assisted in the outreach efforts of this project. This included marketing and logo creation, development of a bi-monthly project newsletter, organizing and convening six (6) stakeholder group meetings, administering a parent survey and a GIS-based survey, participating in ten (10) community events to gather resident feedback, and developing the community engagement chapter of the final plan.
