Circulate San Diego Celebrates Park(ing) Day in Chula Vista
What
Circulate San Diego will host Park(ing) Day in Chula Vista, transforming ordinary curbside parking spaces into temporary public parks, called parklets. The event highlights how streets can be reimagined as more vibrant, pedestrian-friendly places. Photos from the 2024 event are attached below.
Why
For more than 20 years, Park(ing) Day has inspired communities worldwide to creatively rethink urban streets. This annual event sparks conversations about city design, public space, and mobility, showing how even small changes can make neighborhoods safer, healthier, and more engaging.

This year’s event is hosted by Circulate San Diego in partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), the City of Chula Vista, the Chula Vista Police Department,and local City of Chula Vista business El Cholo’s Kid. Community members, city leaders, and advocates will take part.
