What: Kevin Wilson was killed in 2020 at the age of 56 while riding his bike on Dehesa Road when he was run down from behind. Dehesa Road is a common cycling route and despite Kevin’s fatality, the street design remains unchanged. A “Ghost Bike” – a common memorial to cyclists killed in traffic violence like Kevin.
Join us for Kevin's Ghost Bike Memorial Installation Event on Sunday, August 4th at 10:00 am at On Dehesa Road in front of Singing Hills Golf Course - 3007 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019. Families for Safe Streets San Diego member Nancy Cavanaugh-Wilson and Doug Hoffman from the San Diego Bicycle Collective will be installing a ghost bike for her husband Kevin Wilson. August 4th would be Kevin's 61st birthday.
Thanks to the generosity of multiple organizations and individuals, including event cosponsors: Families for Safe Streets San Diego & Ghost Bike donated and prepared by San Diego Bicycle Collective. And, support from Vision Zero Coalition Organizations, including Circulate San Diego, San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and Bike SD.
Families for Safe Streets San Diego is a group of San Diego families who have lost loved ones to traffic violence while they were walking or biking.
