Press Conference — SANDAG Must Ensure Process Improvements for Bike Program

On September 24, nonprofit think tank Circulate San Diego will host a press conference outside of the SANDAG offices at the Wells Fargo Plaza at 401 B. St. The SANDAG board will be voting later that day on increasing funding for the Regional Bicycle Early Action Program.

Friday, September 24, 8:00 am

Wells Fargo Plaza, 401 B. St, San Diego, 92101

  • Jesse O’Sullivan, Policy Counsel, Circulate San Diego
  • Marissa Tucker-Borquez, Community Advocate
  • Noah Harris, Transportation Policy Advocate, Climate Action Campaign
  • Stephen Vance, Board Chair, San Diego County Bicycle Coalition

Advocates will call on SANDAG to fully fund its bicycle network, and to also improve the process for delivering those projects on-time and on-budget.

Recent media coverage has shown how SANDAG spends large amounts of funding on bicycle planning efforts, with too few bicycle lane miles to show for it. Recent deaths show the need for more rapid implementation of bicycle projects.
