SCAG Go Human Safety Strategies & Research

Circulate received a contract from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) to run the 2025 Go Human Safety Strategies & Research project. The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) provided the funding for this contract. The purpose of this project was to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of Go Human resources and provide recommendations for improved accessibility and improved community-led messaging strategies that improve safety. The project also included the fulfillment orders and deliveries of bicycle and pedestrian safety materials, on-site support of traffic safety events, and the coordination of educational services and training materials. Circulate partnered with Estolano Advisors, Toole Design, California Walks, and California Resource Services for Independent Living (CRS-IL) to complete the project tasks.

The project team handled a variety of tasks including:

    • Weekly project team meetings
    • Accessibility assessment of the three Go Human resources - the Community Grants Program, the Go Human Kit of Parts, and the co-branded materials resource
    • Deployment of the SCAG Kit of Parts at one (1) event
    • Researching best practices for distributing traffic safety messaging in the SCAG region
    • Event support for four (4) traffic safety fairs
    • Distribution of safety materials such as helmets to partners around the SCAG region
    • Production of a comprehensive final report
