Circulate San Diego partnered with the City of Lemon Grove and School District to encourage families to walk and bike to school. This project targeted 5 neighborhood schools: Mount Vernon, Monterey Heights, San Altos, San Miguel, and Lemon Grove Academy. The goals of the program was improve the health and safety of students and the community, make walking and biking fun, safe and a viable transportation options, decrease traffic congestion and pollution around schools, as well as promote independence and mobility for students. Launched in 2012, this program is one of the most sustainable school programs in the region.
