Circulate received a grant from the City of San Diego and San Diego State University to conduct California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) funded pedestrian and bicycle safety programming. The OTS programs raise awareness about traffic rules, rights, and responsibilities whether you are driving, walking, or bicycling. Specifically, programs are designed for high-risk populations, including youth and older community members, in an effort to encourage safe alternative transportation behaviors. The overarching program goal is to reduce the total number of pedestrians and bicyclists killed or injured in traffic related crashes.
Through this initiative, Circulate coordinated with SDSU Athletics and the San Diego FC MLS team to conduct first-mile/last-mile programming and messaging around alternative (non-vehicular) travel to and from Snapdragon Stadium. Activities included pop-up tabling events, guided bike and skateboard rides, transit field trips, a bike valet, and more. Located in the heart of Mission Valley, Snapdragon Stadium invites fans to experience exciting sporting events, shows, and more. Skip the hassle of traffic by biking or using public transit! Our interactive map details all bike routes leading to the stadium and highlights available bike racks. Additionally, the Trolley's Green Line offers direct service to Snapdragon Stadium for a convenient and eco-friendly travel option. Check out MTS's website to learn more about getting to the stadium via trolley.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
