Circulate Planning & Policy supported CR Associates on the development of the Solana Beach Safe Routes to School Plan. Safe Routes to School is a nation-wide program that aims to create safer conditions around schools, and to encourage students, parents, and school staff to walk, bike, and roll to school. With funding from Caltrans, the project team spent more than a year reviewing walking, biking, and rolling conditions around nine (9) project sites within the City of Solana Beach.
Circulate assisted in the community engagement efforts of the project. This included conducting nine (9) mobility assessments around every school and youth club in the City of Solana Beach, administering a parent survey, and attending two (2) community events to promote the project and obtain feedback regarding existing conditions and potential recommendations.
