- Dues paying members who are concurrently members of a Community Planning Group in the City of San Diego are eligible to vote in annual board elections for the SGCP.
- Dues paying members who are not members of a Community Planning Group are considered nonvoting affiliate members.

Mission:
The purpose of the Sustainable Growth Community Planners shall be to engage and empower Community Planning Group (CPG) members who believe in addressing climate change, supporting good land use decisions, and implementing equitable transportation policies. The SGCP platform supports a variety of policies and projects that achieve this mission.
Guiding Principles:
- Increase active and shared transportation options
- Prioritize safe streets and people over parking
- Build homes sustainably and densely near transit and jobs
- Support public investments in underserved communities
- Create neighborhoods to live, work, and play

The SGCP is an independent and self-governing group of Community Planners and is fiscally sponsored by Circulate San Diego.
