Use transit to attend San Diego’s Families Belong Together March

This Saturday, many San Diegans will be traveling Downtown to participate in the Families Belong Together march, in opposition the separation of children from their parents at the U.S./Mexico Border and other ports of entry.

This page provides information for individuals who wish to use transit to attend the protest.

Directions via Transit:

There is an MTS Trolley station that serves the San Diego Civic Center, where the march convenes. The Orange and Blue Lines directly serve that station, and it can also be accessed by the Green Line and Coaster with a quick transfer at Santa Fe Depot. Many bus lines stop one block away on Broadway or even closer.

Traveling from South County:

UC San Diego Blue Line trolley travels north from the San Ysidro Border, and stops at the Civic station where the rally will be held. Numerous parking lots are available near Blue Line stations, and can be located here.

Traveling from East County:

Sycuan Green Line travels West from Santee to the Santa Fe Station, with transfer to Blue or Orange Line, which both travel east to the Civic Center station. Numerous parking lots are available near Green Line stations, and can be located here.

The Orange Line travels west from El Cajon, and stops at the Civic Center station where the rally will be held. Numerous parking lots are available near Orange Line stations, and can be located here.

Traveling from North County:

The North County Transit District Coaster has one train that will arrive before the rally, departing from Oceanside at 8:30 am. See the schedule online. Numerous parking lots are available near Coaster stations, and can be located here.

Transit to the rally from neighborhoods within the City of San Diego is easily accessible by bus. Below are some route suggestions.
