Work Anniversary Spotlight - Jeremy Bloom

Name: Jeremy Bloom
How many years have your worked for Circulate and what is your title?
I have worked for Ciruclate for 5 years now and I'm the Chief Operating and Chief Development Officer, which is a fancy way of saying I do a little bit of everything.
On any given day, you might find me planning an event, chatting with donors, chasing down grants, balancing budgets, or figuring out how to fund Colin's latest big idea. Sure, let's drop an album! Sure, let's take a group of statewide housing advocates to Tijuana! Sure, let's take over a nightclub! At this point, I've learned that the answer is usually "yes," followed immediately by, "Davida, we've got some figuring out to do."
My job is part fundraiser, part event planner, and part problem solver. No two days are ever the same, and somehow, I wouldn't have it any other way!
During this time, what’s your most memorable face palm moment? Or what is your biggest achievement to date? Choose one.
Probably because it happened the actual week of my 5th year anniversary. Circulate took over a nightclub. For work.
This year, we turned NOVA SD into "Club Circulate" for our annual Momentum Awards. More than 300 people, a DJ, tacos, an open bar, a rooftop after-party, and even a few elected officials on the dance floor (hopefully!).
Pulling off an event like that takes a village, a lot of spreadsheets, and probably more caffeine than anyone should consume. But seeing everyone come together to celebrate our work made it all worth it.
Not bad for a nonprofit that spends most of its time talking about bike lanes and zoning!
What are you excited for about the future?
More housing. Better transit. Safer streets. And bigger parties!
I'm excited to keep growing Circulate, finding creative ways to fund our work, and bringing more people into our little world of urban planning nerds. We've got big ideas, an incredible team, and plenty of work ahead of us. I love that we get to tackle serious challenges while still finding ways to have fun along the way. And after this year's Momentum Awards, I think we've officially set the bar pretty high. So if anyone knows a good venue for 2027, I'm taking suggestions!
