Work Anniversary spotlight: Octavio Garcia

How many years have your worked for Circulate and what is your title?
I have worked at Circulate for 5 years and I am a Senior Planner.
If this is your 3rd or 5th year, which role did you start out as and which role are you in now? Describe the different type of tasks you perform.
My original role was “planner” and since then, I have evolved into a “senior planner.” Nowadays, I have various tasks that I perform such as conducting deliverables on multiple grants, helping chase new projects through grant writing, proposal creation, and project management.
During this time, what’s your most memorable face palm moment? Or what is your biggest achievement to date?
One achievement I am especially proud of is being part of teams that painted crosswalks on the SDSU and Feaster Charter campuses. Seeing the artwork every time I step onto campus always brings a sense of pride and happiness.
What are you excited for about the future?
In the future, I am excited to continue growing my skillset as a planner. I especially look forward to working on planning projects that help shape the structure of our cities. My favorite part of being a planner is seeing projects I contributed to materialize into permanent infrastructure.
