Be a Hero. Walk Safe!

Here at Circulate San Diego, we were excited this week to introduce San Diego’s Vision Zero Hero aka Captain VZ!  Draped in a reflective cape, she is armed with a safety message that helps everyone unleash their inner superhero.  Captain VZ can’t be everywhere, so her message for everyone is to work together to keep our streets safe, and save lives by walking, biking, and driving safely.

Captain_VZ_at_Porter__(17).jpgCaptain VZ debuted in Southeast San Diego this Tuesday to celebrate Walk to School Day with students at Porter North and South Elementary. Students and family met up with the superhero at Kennedy Park, where they received a superhero emblem, and joined the “Walking School Bus.” Together they enjoyed walking to school chanting songs and enjoying the beautiful sunny San Diego morning.

We should be safe no matter where we go, or how we get there. Captain VZ makes walking to school more fun and inspires students and families to walk safely.
