Tragic Hit-and-Run in Pacific Beach Highlights Need for Safety

This week, our community was shaken by a heartbreaking tragedy. A 6-year-old child, Hudson, was killed by a hit-and-run driver making a left turn on Ingraham Street, part of the Pacific Beach bike path just a block from an elementary school.

Circulate San Diego COO Jeremy Bloom spoke with NBC 7 about this preventable loss, emphasizing that enough is enough. Our streets must be designed to protect the most vulnerable, not put them in harm’s way.

You can take action:

Call for safer streets: Send an email to your city elected officials urging them to prioritize Vision Zero street safety investments. Take Action, Today!

Support Hudson’s family: Contribute to the GoFundMe set up for the family. Contribute to the GoFundMe set up for the family.

Demand justice: Join the San Diego Bicycle Coalition in a letter-writing campaign urging the County District Attorney to pursue charges that reflect the crime committed against Hudson. Sign and Share

Circulate CEO Speaks at New Laws Panel Hosted by LAI

Earlier this week, Circulate CEO and General Counsel Colin Parent spoke on a panel hosted by the San Diego Chapter of Lambda Alpha International.

The panel focused on new housing laws in California. Colin also previewed data from Circulate’s forthcoming report on the statewide use of Density Bonus Law.

Circulate sponsored
two major bills to expand the impact of Density Bonus Law in 2020 and 2023. For each of those years, they represented the most impactful housing production laws signed by Governor Newsom.
