Love Your Brain This Valentine’s Day <3
Happy Valentine’s Day, lovebirds. On this day of love, do you know what really gets us oohing and ahhing?...seeing a bicyclists and scooter-ers wearing helmets. Wow, what a heart throbbing sight.
Did you know: Injuries to the head are one of the main causes of death and traumatic brain injury for cyclists in traffic accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, bicycle helmets are 85 to 88 percent effective in mitigating head and brain injuries. This fact makes helmets the single most effective way to reduce your risk of a traumatic brain injury or death.
So go ahead, show yourself some self-love, fasten one of those life-saving devices to your head, and have a great ride!
Thank you to the Office of Traffic Safety and the County of San Diego HHSA for funding this important safety message.
