Highlights from Our Fall Membership Mixer
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Membership Mixer! It was a wonderful evening of connecting with members, partners, and supporters.

We’re excited to announce this year’s nominees for Circulate’s Momentum Awards: Club Circulate! Winners will be revealed at the Momentum Awards on October 23, 2026.
The Momentum Awards celebrate the people and projects creating excellent mobility choices and vibrant, healthy neighborhoods. For more than 27 years, Circulate has been the region’s leading voice for land use and mobility policy.

Animals on the Bay Day at Living Coast Discovery Center
Animals on the Bay Day is a reduced admission day full of education & conservation at the Living Coast featuring animal encounters, partner organizations, a craft market, food trucks, and more!
On September 19th, from 10 AM to 4 PM, the Living Coast will be packed with fun. Throughout the day, you can learn and interact with Living Coast Animal Ambassadors, meet other partner organizations, and enjoy some bites from local food trucks.
Circulate will be in attendance sharing bicycle and pedestrian safety information. Stop by our booth to get some safety items and try out our traffic calming RC course!
Park(ing) Day Celebration!
Circulate will celebrate this year’s Park(ing) Day with Dame Más Cafeina by installing a pop-up parklet at 265 3rd Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910.
Join us on Friday, September 18th from 8 AM to 11 AM for this global event that transforms curbside parking spaces into temporary public parks, or parklets, inviting communities to reimagine their streets as vibrant, pedestrian-friendly spaces.

Circulate’s Imperial Beach Activities
Circulate has been partnering with the City of Imperial Beach on a pedestrian and bicycle safety program.
Over the past month, that work has included community events to promote safety and distribute helmets, two Daylighting-focused demonstrations featuring a temporary parklet and a temporary curb extension, the installation of safety messaging decals along popular bike and pedestrian paths, and the installation of wayfinding signage on major streets throughout the City, including Palm Avenue, Imperial Beach Boulevard, and Seacoast Drive.
We are thankful to be able to conduct this work with the City of Imperial Beach! Stay tuned to our calendar over the coming months for more events!

AB 2433 awaits Governor Newsom’s Signature
BIG NEWS – Circulate's sponsored bill to modernize Bonus Law unanimously passed the Senate and Assembly. The Affordable Homeownership Bonus Law (AB 2433, Alvarez) now heads to Governor Newsom's desk for signature.
The bill modernizes California Density Bonus Law, which is already the most used housing streamlining program in California. In the four years following AB 2345, Circulate's first sponsored Bonus Law reform, the law was used to approve over 140,000 homes. This is more than ten times the production of all other tracked streamlining laws combined.
The bill now awaits Governor Newsom's signature. And we need your help getting is across the finish line!

Streetsblog San Diego is a new website for news and views about transportation, planning, open space, and housing in San Diego.
SBSD is published by the same people that produce other Streetsblogs in California, but will feature the work of local writers and advocates…many names and faces that you will recognize.
