Circulate partnered with KTUA Planning and Architecture to develop an Active Transportation Plan for the City of Banning.
The plan outlines existing infrastructure and travel habits of the community and identifies strategies, actions, and treatments that will create an environment that is safer and more comfortable for walking, biking, and living an active lifestyle. Recommendations in the ATP were designed to ensure that all roadway users, including the most vulnerable such as children, older adults, and those with limited mobility, have safe transportation options to travel as they need and want.
With funding from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the project team reviewed existing conditions and developed recommendations for the City of Banning. Circulate was in charge of leading the community engagement portion of the project including:
-
- marketing and logo creation,
- development of a monthly newsletter,
- organizing and convening (9) stakeholder group meetings,
- administering of a general and GIS-based survey,
- (6) in-person community events including the use of the Go Human SCAG Kit of Parts,
- development of chapters in the final ATP.
