City of Lynwood Safe Routes to School Plan

Circulate partnered with KOA Corporation to develop a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plan for the City of Lynwood.

The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plan identified a list of infrastructure projects for the City to implement in the surrounding areas of schools. The Lynwood SRTS Plan aims to encourage students to take part in more physical activity, increase the use of public facilities such as bicycle and walking paths, create safer routes to school, and ensure that streets in the City are designed and maintained with all users in mind.

With funding from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the project team is reviewed existing conditions and developed recommendations for the City of Lynwood. Circulate was in charge of leading the community engagement portion of the project including:

    • marketing and logo creation,
    • development of a bi-monthly newsletter,
    • organizing and convening (6) stakeholder group meetings,
    • administering of a general and GIS-based survey,
    • (10) in-person community events,
    • development of chapters in the final SRTS.

The final plan can be found here.
