This walk audit was conducted in coordination with City Heights CDC and future residents of the CUATRO building. This walk was hosted on July 23, 2024 and had a group of 23 people. The group included Circulate staff, City Heights CDC, residents, and interested participants.
CUATRO at City Heights is an affordable housing project across four locations in City Heights. The walking route took place along: University Avenue, 39th Street, Polk Avenue, Central Avenue, El Cajon Boulevard, 42nd Street, and Marlborough Avenue. Between 2018-2022, there were 63 pedestrian injuries, 6 pedestrian fatalities, and 23 bicycle injuries within a quarter mile of the walking route. On March 1st, 2024, a 47-year-old woman was injured by a driver who failed to yield while turning left as she walked along the crosswalk on El Cajon Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue.
