This walk audit was conducted in coordination with the Salvation Army Silvercrest Residence. This walk was hosted on February 23, 2024 and had a group of 20 people. The group included Circulate SD staff, residents of Silvercrest, and Salvation Army staff.
The walking route took place along: E Street, 9th Avenue, Market Street, 11th Avenue, and 8th Avenue. Between 2018-2022, there were 137 pedestrian injuries, 2 pedestrians killed, and 70 bicycle injuries within a quarter mile of the walking route. On October 5, 2020, a 70-year-old man was killed by a driver pulling out of a parking structure. On November 12, 2021, a 61-year-old man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in a white sedan.
