This pedestrian audit was conducted in coordination with the Salvation Army Silvercrest Residence. This audit was hosted on December 12, 2024 and had a group of 10 people. The group included Circulate SD staff, residents of Silvercrest, and Salvation Army staff.
The Salvation Army Silvercrest Residence is located in East Village. The audit route took place along: E Street, 4th Avenue, G Street, 1st Street, and 6th Avenue. Between 2019-2023, there were 144 pedestrian injuries, 2 pedestrians killed, 55 bicycle injuries, and 1 bicyclist killed within a quarter mile of the audit route. One particularly tragic incident occurred on July 25, 2023, when a 56-year-old woman was killed while biking along Market Street. She was sideswiped by a driver of a pickup truck that was traveling in the same direction.
