This audit was coordinated with J Calvin Lauderbach Elementary School. This audit was hosted on December 6, 2024 and had a group of 24 people. The pedestrian audit was attended by Circulate San Diego, 6th Grade Lauderbach Elementary students, and staff from Lauderbach Elementary.
Lauderbach Elementary is located near Lauderbach Park in the Castle Park neighborhood of Chula Vista. The audit route took place along: Palomar Street, Fourth Avenue, Broadway, and Oxford Street. Between 2019-2023, there were 3 pedestrians killed, 25 pedestrian injuries, and 7 bicyclist injuries within a quarter mile of the walking route. On February 24, 2021, 86-year-old Byungsun Han was killed while using his motorized wheelchair on Oxford Street.
