City of San Diego Pedestrian Audit Reports (FY 2025-26)

Building Skills Partnership

This pedestrian audit was conducted in coordination with Building Skills Partnership. This audit was hosted on July 13, 2026 and had a group of 10 people. The group included Circulate Planning & Policy, Building Skills Partnership, and City Heights residents.

The audit route took place along: El Cajon Boulevard, Central Avenue, Meade Avenue, and 36th Street. Between 2020-2024, there were 21 pedestrians injured, two pedestrians killed, and 10 bicyclists injured within a quarter mile of the route. On April 20, 2025, a 75-year-old pedestrian was struck by a driver while using the crosswalk at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and the I-15 highway ramp. On December 19, 2024, an 89-year-old cyclist was struck by a driver while riding along El Cajon Boulevard near the northbound I-15 exit ramp.
