This pedestrian audit was conducted in coordination with San Diego High School. This audit was hosted on February 4, 2026 and had a group of 24 people. The group included Circulate Planning & Policy, San Diego High School staff, and their 10th grade engineering class.
San Diego High School is located in Downtown San Diego. The audit route took place along: Park Boulevard, Presidents Way, A Street, B Street, and 10th Avenue. Between 2020-2024, there were 30 bicyclists injured, 61 pedestrians injured, and 8 pedestrians killed within a quarter mile of the walking route. On December 15, 2020, 37-year-old pedestrian Daniel Babb was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near B Street and 11th Avenue. Throughout the pedestrian audit, participants observed multiple conflicts between drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists, specifically along Park Boulevard.
