This pedestrian audit was conducted in coordination with San Diego High School. This audit was hosted on March 10, 2026 and had a group of 24 people. The group included Circulate Planning & Policy, San Diego High School staff, and their 11th grade engineering class.
San Diego High School is located in Downtown San Diego. The audit route took place along: Park Boulevard, Broadway, Russ Boulevard, and 16th Street. Between 2020-2024, there were 45 bicyclists injured, 75 pedestrians injured, and 17 pedestrians killed within a quarter mile of the route. On March 15, 2021, 71-year-old driver, Craig Voss, drove onto the sidewalk on B Street between Park Boulevard and 16th Street, resulting in the death of Randy Ferris, Walter Jones, and Rodney Diffendal, and injuring seven pedestrians
